The Companies (Cross Border Mergers) Regulations 2007 implement European Directive 2005/56/EC and establish a legal framework to enable cross border mergers between companies with share capital from member states in the European Economic Area. The Regulations also establish the process to be completed where employee participation arrangements exist in one or more companies wishing to merge.
